Our Story

More Than A Mission
Promise Youth Foundation was created from real experiences, real struggles, and a real desire to create change for foster youth in our community.

What We Witnessed
As foster parents, Keosha and Tyson saw children enter care without basic necessities many people take for granted — clothing that fit, hygiene essentials, educational support, and emotional stability. Many youth struggled silently with insecurity, behavioral challenges, and mental health difficulties connected to the lack of support surrounding them.

Why It Became Personal
For Terrianna, this mission is more than advocacy — it is lived experience. Entering foster care with only the clothes on her back, she understands firsthand what it feels like to depend on the kindness of others for essentials like clothing, bedding, hygiene products, and support while navigating motherhood and education.

Why We Started
When Keosha, Tyson and Terrianna met and shared their stories, they realized how deeply their community lacked resources for foster youth and foster families. Together, they decided to create something that could directly impact the lives of youth entering care.

Our Purpose
We believe no child should feel forgotten, unsupported, or unworthy because of their circumstances. Promise Youth Foundation exists to bridge gaps, restore dignity, and remind foster youth that their future matters.
What We Do
We partner with youth, families, and local agencies to offer support that is both personal and practical. Our core programs focus on:
- Connecting people with essential resources, referrals, and advocacy
- Providing one-on-one support, guidance, and follow-up
- Hosting groups, workshops, or events that share skills and build community
- Partnering with other organizations to fill gaps and avoid duplication of services
- Raising awareness about local needs and ways to respond with care
